Wedding Trends | 2012 Predictions
Hello 2012! May the new year bring us 1000′s of new wedding pretties & inspiration. I have lots of predictions for this year’s wedding season trends so I thought I would share them with you here. I’ve included my Top 10 – will they come true? Time will only tell but one thing is for sure
Love never goes out of style.
Now, without further adieu…
1. Less strapless, more straps & sleeves
Classic elegance will be a major theme in 2012. Brides will be drawn to gowns that have more coverage and embody vintage inspired glamour.
2. Charitable Donations as favors
Couples are choosing to make a donation to their favorite charity in their guests honor in lieu of the traditional favor. This adds more personality and uniqueness to their special day as well as aiding a good cause.
3. “Ugly” flowers are back in
Flowers like carnations & babies breath are making a come back – and I’m loving it!
4. Mis-matched bridesmaid dresses
More and more brides are letting their bridesmaids reflect their personal style through gowns of their choice. This lets your guests see your girlfriend’s personal flair but it still ties into the event’s overall look.
5. Fun food
Food is becoming more and more of an important part of weddings. Whether it’s serving a gourmet dinner, a unique dessert, or a fun ‘midnight snack’ to your guests, brides & grooms are getting more and more creative with their selections.
6. Unique tablescapes vs. cookie cutter centerpieces
Personality really is a big theme to weddings in 2012. All brides want their special day to stand out and be different so they are really pushing the envelope with their table decor.
7. Metallics, glitter & sparkle
Brides are eating up glitter & glam, for some – the more bling the better.
8. Whites + Neutrals
Brides at the opposite of the “bling” spectrum love all white & neutral weddings with a classic, clean & crisp feel to them. Even the bridesmaids are being draped in white!
9. Less florals, more green {succulents, herbs, etc.}
It’s not just in an effort to save money, using more green & less florals is a beautiful trend! Especially for the nature-loving, casual, and even vintage bride.
10. Girlie & Pretty
Pretty in pink is another theme of 2012. Pink, peonies, pearls – the prettier the better!
